About Jess White

Registered Psychotherapist

Why I Do This Work

It’s one thing to study therapy. It’s another to have lived through the kinds of challenges that make you seek it out.

I’m Jess White, a Registered Psychotherapist based in Collingwood, Ontario. I work with people navigating sleep disruption, emotional overwhelm, alcohol use, parenting shifts, and identity transitions—especially in midlife. What I offer isn’t just informed by professional training, but by lived experience—and by the many hours I’ve spent on the other side of the therapy room myself.

Therapy changed my life. That’s why I do this work.

My Path to This Work

Before becoming a therapist, I spent over two decades in education and sleep consulting—supporting families, students, and organizations across Ontario.

I changed careers at 50.

I’m the parent of three teenagers.

I know what it feels like to lose your sense of self and the work it takes to turn back to yourself.

Clients often tell me they feel seen, not judged. Supported, and challenged in the ways they need. We’ll work collaboratively, at a pace that respects your capacity, your values, and your goals.

I work with adults, teens (13+), and families navigating:

“You do not have to be good.

You do not have to walk on your knees

for a hundred miles through the desert repenting.

You only have to let the soft animal of your body

love what it loves. (...)

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,

the world offers itself to your imagination,

calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting—

over and over announcing your place

in the family of things.”
